BlueHost Web Hosting Review

BlueHost web hosting reviewOperating from Provo, Utah, BlueHost has been providing consistent and reliable web hosting services since 1996, making it one of the most experienced and successful providers in the web hosting industry.

BlueHost is one of the few high-quality website hosting providers that has its own data center with servers that it has built on its own. One advantage of this key feature is that whenever a rare server issue occurs, BlueHost can immediately implement a solution without having to coordinate with two or three different companies, making it faster and easier for problems to be resolved.

Another advantage that BlueHost has over its competitors is its list of impressive features that are offered in two competitive price packages. Whether you’re setting up a simple website for a start-up or an online shop for a major company, BlueHost has the features that you’ll need to maximize your website’s potential.

One important aspect of what makes BlueHost a popular website hosting provider is its dependable customer service. Customers will be able to contact and get a hold of a representative in different ways: through phone, email, snail mail and live chat. The live chat feature is especially valuable as it gives customers instant answers right from BlueHost’s website.

 BlueHost Price and Plans

There are two major price packages that are currently being offered by BlueHost although the monthly rates still depend on the contract period.

  • Standard Web Hosting
    • $8.95 per month for 12 months
    • $7.95 per month for 24 months
    • $6.95 per month for 36 months
  • Pro Web Hosting
    • $24.95 per month though there is currently a promotional price being offered which lowers the price to $19.95 a month

The Pro Web Hosting package includes all the features of the Standard package with additional security and server features that offered separately for those with the Standard plan.

When you sign up for BlueHost website hosting services, you will be required to pay for the whole amount of your service period if you choose the Standard package. If you want to use BlueHost for 24 months, you will need to pay $190.80 upon sign up, excluding additional features that you may want to add to your account. For the Pro Web Hosting package, the only service period that is currently offered is 12 months.

Domain registration is already included in the packages but only for the first year. For the succeeding years, you will need to register your domain and pay the applicable fees. Keep in mind though that should you wish to terminate your service earlier than your agreed duration, or if you downgrade your account to a period of less than year, an $11.95 fee will be deducted from your refund total to cover the costs of registering your domain.

The Standard website hosting package is already more than sufficient for simple business and personal websites, even those that has an integrated eCommerce facility. If however, you want to add more features for your website due to heavy traffic, you can add them separately or simply upgrade to the Pro Website Hosting to save up $200 in additional features.

 Guarantee

As mentioned earlier, BlueHost website hosting owns and manages its own data center and the servers used to host the millions of websites domains that are currently registered with the company. This allows BlueHost to give its customers fast website loading times and data transfer even with heavy website traffic and 99% uptime which is important to all website administrators.

BlueHost also includes its True Resource Management security feature in all its service packages. This basically protects websites from slowed down website loading times which is quite common in shared hosting processes. This feature is often only available in VPS (virtual private servers) which are offered by other companies at an additional cost to the customers.

If you are not satisfied with BlueHost’s website hosting service, you can cancel within 30-days of signing up and get a full refund although the setup fees are non-refundable.
